Horizon Wind Energy, the nation’s third largest wind power company and the biggest owner and operator of wind farms in New York, is helping the state achieve its goal to have 25% of electricity come from renewable resources.

The Houston, TX-based company tapped Rueckert Advertising & Public Relations to provide media relations and event planning support surrounding the grand opening of Horizon’s new Northeast Regional Headquarters in downtown Albany. The 3,100-square-foot office services wind farm projects throughout New York, Pennsylvania and New England.

Rueckert Advertising also provided Horizon Wind Energy with marketing support, including print advertising, media planning and placement, point-of-purchase, trade show materials, market research and focus group coordination.

RIDING THE NEW BREEZE

Media coverage surrounding the grand opening of Horizon’s Northeast Regional Headquarters was impressive. Almost every media outlet in the Capital Region covered the event, helping shine the light on the wind energy company and Albany’s developing role as a renewable energy hub.

As the demand for wind power continues, Horizon plans to develop an additional 1000 MW of projects in Western New York and the North Country. Rueckert Advertising will play a key role in message development and educating communities and politicians about how wind energy can displace the use of imported fossil fuels, improve our air quality and leave the environment a better place for our children.
