Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce Names Heritage Health Care Center 2018 Business of the Year Finalist

Wenesday, Nov. 28, 2018 – Utica’s Heritage Health Care Center has been selected as a finalist for the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Business of the Year awards.

The 220-bed skilled nursing facility, which has a 151-year history of serving the healthcare needs of Central New York families and is managed by The Grand Healthcare System, is one of three companies/organizations vying for the title of not-for-profit organization with over 50 employees.

Winners will be announced at the annual Business of the Year awards luncheon held Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club in New York Mills.

“It’s a great honor for Heritage Health Care Center to be named a finalist for this prestigious award,” said Fred Deck, administrator, Heritage Health Care Center. “This recognition validates our commitment to the community and the tireless work of our staff to provide Central New York residents with high-quality short- and long-term rehabilitation and nursing services.”

To be considered for the award, organizations must demonstrate their business staying power, their commitment to the Mohawk Valley region and involvement in the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce. In addition to serving on the boards of local chambers of commerce, Heritage Health Care Center staff brainstorm with chamber staff on upcoming networking opportunities, as well as participate and sponsor events. Heritage Health Care Center also hosts regular chamber breakfasts and, whenever possible, works with chamber members to fulfil vending needs.

In total, 14 Central New York businesses have been named a finalist for the annual awards competition across five categories. Other categories include: for-profit business with over 50 employees, for-profit business with 50 employees or fewer, not-for-profit with 50 employees or fewer, and catalyst rising business.
