The Grand Makes Thanksgiving Brighter for Guilderland Residents

ALTAMONT, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2017) — For the second year running, representatives from The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland partnered with the Guilderland Food Pantry to make Thanksgiving a little brighter for Guilderland residents in need. Twenty-five turkeys and two roasting chickens were provided by the nursing facility and then delivered the local families along with staples such as canned corn, beans, yams, fresh fruit, stuffing, butter, rolls, Jell-O and milk. “Holiday times are tough for many families in this community,” said The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland Assistant Administrator Josh Held, noting that in Altamont, one in four school children qualify for a free lunch, which is a key indicator of poverty. “We are trying to assist them as best we can.” For more information or to make a donation, call the Guilderland Food Pantry at 518-930-1001, or visit GuilderlandFoodPantry.com.
