Local Nursing Home Residents Enjoy Little League Opening Day

Saturday, April 28, 2018 -- Residents of The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell in Valatie attended today's Northern Columbia Little League opening day. They took part in opening day ceremonies and then cheered on The Grand-sponsored teams competing in different age groups. “We’re always looking for fun ways to give back to the community,” said Bridget Delcoure, director of recreation, The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell, explaining that staff handed out sunglasses, drawstring bags, water bottles and t-shirts during each game. “Our residents loved spending with young members of the neighborhood. Our sunglasses were a big hit with the kids, as many of them chose to wear them for their professionally taken photographs. A fun day was had by all!"
