Menands Attorney Honored By NYS Bar Association for Trial Excellence

Thursday, Jan. 24, 2024 — Christopher P. Flint, Esq., of counsel at Cooper Erving & Savage, LLP was recently honored with the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Trial Lawyers Section Betty D. Friedlander Award for trial excellence.

The Menands resident was recognized for making significant contributions to upstate trial practice outside of New York City. He received his award Thursday, Jan. 18 at an awards ceremony held during NYSBA’s Annual Meeting at New York Hilton Midtown.

“I am incredibly grateful for this award that recognizes the dedication and passion I bring to my work,” said Flint. “Like Betty, I strive to be a fierce advocate for my clients, always fighting for their rights with unwavering commitment and energy.”

Flint, who was born and raised in the Capital Region, has practiced law since 1986, primarily in the fields of personal injury and commercial litigation. He is licensed in federal and state courts in New York and Vermont and has tried numerous cases to verdict in both jurisdictions, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Flint has secured several seven-figure and numerous six-figure recoveries for his injured clients.

A graduate of Manhattan College and Hofstra University School of Law, Flint is currently Of Counsel to the Albany firm of Cooper Erving & Savage, where he continues to litigate plaintiff’s personal injury and commercial cases.

In 2017, Flint was elected Village Justice in Menands, where he continues to serve. Prior to that, Flint served as an adjunct professor at Siena College, where he taught business law to students enrolled in the school of business.

The Betty D. Friedlander Award for Trial Excellence was established by the Trial Lawyers Section to pay tribute to Friedlander's groundbreaking career as one of upstate New York's first female trial lawyers. The annual accolade recognizes a trial lawyer who exemplifies extraordinary proficiency and professionalism in upstate trial practice (excluding the City of New York), while displaying an unwavering commitment to professional excellence.
