Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 — Officials at The Grand Healthcare System today announced that the company has been appointed receiver of two failing Buffalo nursing homes, Emerald South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (1175 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14209) and Emerald North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which is located at 1205 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY 14209.

Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 -- George Fink, 91, of Selkirk, a resident at The Grand Healthcare System's The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell, got a lifelong wish to drive a tank fulfilled today when The Grand Healthcare System partnered with Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course in Greenville to let him get behind the controls of their 1984 M548 personnel carrier with .50 caliber turret.

Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 — Organizers of the Troy Turkey Trot, the nation’s 12th and world’s 64th oldest road race, today announced the start of registration for the event’s 71st edition. The signature Collar City event, presented by Pioneer Bank, features a 5K, 10K, Grade School Mile, and Turkey Walk, and will be held on Thanksgiving morning in historic Troy, New York. Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 -- Congratulations to the 500 riders from 81 JDRF International chapters who raised $1.5 million for type 1 diabetes research at Saturday’s Ride to Cure Diabetes in Saratoga Springs. Kudos also to the 30 local riders, including Tom Hoffman Jr, CEO, Hoffman Car Wash & Hoffman Jiffy Lube, who raised $112,000 while representing JDRF's Northeastern New York chapter. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 — In what is believed to be the first program of its kind in New York state, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) today announced the opening of “The Collaboratory,” an innovative community health resource for residents of Albany’s South End. Literally a “laboratory for collaboration,” The Collaboratory will provide programs and facilitate partnerships with local community organizations with a goal of improving the health and wellness of area residents.
