Seven Decades Together

Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 -- Staff at client, The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland, organized on a beautiful 70th wedding anniversary vow renewal celebration yesterday for Joe, 93, and Joan, 90, Clemens of Latham.  The couple met at Snyder's Lake, a popular spot outside of Troy, following the end of the World War II. After marrying in August 1948, the couple purchased their first and only home at 3 Caroline St., Latham. Joe spent 33 years working for the gas department at Niagara Mohawk, while Joan balanced raising two children with a part-time job at Montgomery Ward in Menands. Rick Clemens said his mother developed dementia when she was 75 and his father was her sole caretaker. He continues to be with her every step of the way. The Grand at Guilderland Supports National Night Out

Thursday, Aug. 2 -- Town of Guilderland Chief of Police Carol J. Lawlor accepts a $1,000 check from officials at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland for the department’s annual National Night Out event. Set for Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 6-9 p.m. at Tawasentha Park, the nationwide event aims to encourage members of the community to meet their neighbors in an effort to reduce crime. More than 4,000 are expected to attend the event, which will feature displays by emergency medical service agencies, local fire departments and neighboring police agencies. Community groups, children’s activities, and music and vendors will also be on hand. Vendors Sought for 8/11 Community Day at The Grand at Barnwell

Friday, June 15, 2018 — The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Barnwell (3230 Church St, Valatie, N.Y. 12184), a 236-bed skilled nursing facility in Valatie, N.Y. that provides rehabilitation and nursing services to patients who require either short- or long-term nursing care following hospitalization, is currently seeking vendors for its 1st annual Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 from 1-5 p.m.
