TROY, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2017) — Registration for the 70th running of the Troy Turkey Trot — one of the largest Thanksgiving Day races in the nation — is now open.
Race organizers expect as many as 8,000 recreational runners and walkers from 37 states to take part in the event’s 10K, 5K, Grade School Mile and Turkey Walk held Thanksgiving morning in historic Troy, New York.

GUILDERLAND CENTER, N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2017) — More than 60 seniors from several New York state nursing facilities operated by The Grand Healthcare System will gather at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing in Guilderland (428 NYS 146, Altamont) Wednesday, Sept. 27 to take part in the 2nd annual Senior Olympics.

LATHAM, N.Y. (August 25, 2017) — For the first time ever, one of the nation’s top type 1 diabetes (T1D) cycling fundraisers will roll into the Capital Region this fall.
From Sept. 14-17, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will host the Ride to Cure Diabetes in Saratoga Springs. One of five venues chosen nationwide, the event will bring together more than 750 cyclists (512 of those will be riding with T1D) of all ages and skill levels – including 40 riders from the Capital Region -- as they fundraise for JDRF, the global leader in T1D research.

Tuesday, July 25, 2017 -- Team Rueckert was delighted to join more than 110 golfers at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 24th annual President's Cup Golf Tournament held July 24 at Albany Country Club, one of the Capital Region's most scenic courses. Proceeds raised enhance ACPHS’ ability to award merit-based academic scholarships, as well as maintain the college’s leadership position in pharmacy, biomedical technology, pharmaceutical and health sciences education. More than $715,000 has been raised since the event’s inception in 1994.

UTICA, N.Y. (July 24, 2017) -- Heritage Health Care Center, a 220-bed skilled nursing facility located at 1657 Sunset Ave. in Utica, has kicked off its multimillion-dollar renovation project.
Officials from The Grand Healthcare System, the Queens-based company currently managing the 150-year-old non-profit facility, announced that the building’s seventh floor tower wing has been remodeled, resulting in the creation of 25 additional private guest rooms and three double rooms with picturesque views of the city.
